Information for instructors

All DTAL practical and theory instructors must be registered with the DTAL Program through the Department of Employment, Education and Training (DEET). Registered DTAL instructors are bound by the Conditions of Registration for DTAL Instructors in conjunction with the Code of Practice for Driving Instructors in the Northern Territory (pdf 82Kb).

To apply for registration as a DTAL instructor, practical or theory applicants must agree to abide by and meet the Conditions of Registration. Potential Instructors are required to submit their application for registration, together with the required documentation, to the DTAL Program Manager for processing:

Continued registration as a DTAL Instructor remains at the total discretion of DEET.
