NTCF support materials
(Layer 2)
The Curriculum & Assessment, Research, Development and Evaluation (CARDE) Project Team is the team that provides layer 2 support materials for teachers accessible through Explore NT. As part of the suite of resources the following areas of focus are underway: Literacy/English, Numeracy/Maths, Science, ICT (Learning Technology), Civics and Citizenship, Environment Education for Sustainability, Indigenous Languages and Culture, Indigenous Studies, Engaging with Asia and History. Resources will be made available through Explore NT.
This variety of curriculum and assessment Layer 2 support materials will all be linked to appropriate outcomes in Layer 1, the NT Curriculum Framework (NTCF). The support materials include:
- System developed materials (eg WTT, Indigenous Studies modules)
- System recommended or endorsed materials (First Steps, Count Me In Too, Primary Connections – Linking Science with Literacy)
- Teacher-devised and recommended resources (eg units of work, resource reviews).
These curriculum support materials will assist teachers in delivering learner centred outcome-focused teaching and learning programs to cater for all NT students.
Project managers
- Research, source, evaluate, modify and/or develop, collate and publish resource materials
- Offer workshops throughout the school year for participation in curriculum review and resource design
- Provide ongoing professional learning opportunities for teachers around DEET endorsed initiatives eg Action Learning Projects around the integration of The Learning Federation learning objects
- Work with teachers to develop curriculum support materials for the relevant curriculum areas
How do schools/teachers become involved?
Information will be available through the e-news and the Principal’s weekly update as well as through Professional Learning Communities. Schools will be paid ERT funding for teachers to participate in workshops.
