Transition from School Program
The Transition from School program assists the transition of students with disabilities from mainstream and special education settings into further education, employment and adult life. The transition process can begin from Year 8.
Support available through the school based special education teacher includes:
- Individual Transition Planning meetings to explore pathways to adult life.
- Connecting families, students and schools with available services and agencies within the community.
- Organising and liaising with local employers for students to have work experiences.
- Assisting students and families through the transition process by providing information and support.
Remote Schools Pathway Grants for Students with a Disability
Funding is available to support remote schools to develop work experience and enterprise programs for students with a disability, for Semester 1 2008.
