National Literacy and Numeracy Week 2008
The Department of Employment, Education and Training (DEET) receives funding from the Australian Government through the National Literacy and Numeracy Week (NLNW) grant to support a range of activities involving students, teachers, parents, community groups and businesses during National Literacy and Numeracy Week.
National Literacy and Numeracy Week will be held this year from 1 to 7 September 2008 as part of Education Week in the Northern Territory. From this year, additional funding opportunities to states and territories have replaced the Schools Excellence Awards.
This year’s theme is Partnerships in Learning. DEET, Independent Schools Association, Catholic Education, Joint Council of Professional Associations, and NT Libraries will contribute to promoting and showcasing learners, teachers, schools, parents and communities working together in literacy and numeracy learning.
