Engaging with Asia Week
1-7 September 2008
Every year during Education week, many schools celebrate their links to Asian culture with their communities. The importance of these celebrations is to acknowledge the rich cultural diversity of our communities and to nourish community harmony. Furthermore, engagement with Asia in our schools enhances students’ understandings of Asian cultures. This strengthens their ability to become globally engaged citizens who are comfortable with diversity and have the skills to operate effectively across cultures with different worldviews and belief systems.
During this week, all schools in the Northern Territory will be encouraged to celebrate the types of Asian engagement they have in their school. Further information will be provided closer to the time.

Why Asia?
Globally Asia has
