Authentic Learning Grants
The department is committed to expanding the range of opportunities for student learning in the Middle Years through classroom practice. Authentic Learning Grants are being offered to foster the development and expansion of relevant and appropriate teaching and learning to Middle Years students.
In collaboration with the opening of the Darwin Convention Centre, Teaching, Learning and Standards is providing $3000 Authentic Learning Grants to encourage and support Middle Years students and teachers in being actively involved through a 10 minute student performance or presentation around the theme of Celebration.

Funding Criteria
Applications for Authentic Learning Grants will be considered for funding against the following criteria:
- The project has a clear educational purpose aligned with outcomes in the NTCF
- The project has clear alignment with the Principles and Policy Framework (refer to Middle Years Website)
- The project fosters authentic learning activities for students in co-operation or partnership with their communities
- The project establishes clear achievable objectives given the timeframe of the proposal
- The project has resource commitment from the school
- Lessons learnt from the project will inform broader school programs
- The project has the support of the school community
- The school undertakes to submit a unit of work, student work sample, or student reflection vignette about the project and the learning experiences provided
- The Principal endorses the project budget.

Applications close COB Thursday 24 April.
Acquittal of Authentic Learning Grants by Thursday 31 July 2008.
